Teddy Bear Poodle
Teddy Bear Poodle puppies are uniquely adorable with their teddy bear looks and incredibly soft fur. You can not imagine how soft the texture of their fur is until you actually have them in your arms and feel the caress of that light and fluffy hair on your hands.
They are the most lovable of puppies with the infusion of the Cavalier Spaniel to bring to the mix the undaunting love of being held and wanting to always be close to you and with you in everything you think of doing. Whether that is to just veg out and watch tv or read a good book or work on your laptop or tablet, they are up for that while they cuddle against you. Or should you wish to go outside and take a walk or perhaps engage in some other play, especially anything involving running, as they simply love to run, and run and feel the wind in their ears.. as they fly like the wind (at least in their little puppy minds I always have the impression of the animation of Dumbo the Flying Elephant when he learns he can fly and his ears are flowing back... and he has the expression of wonder and excitement in the knowledge that he is soaring....]
Not a naturally yappy dog, they are slightly excitable and should be let loose outside with caution for what is going on in the yard and surrounding area, as they may dart off after something that attracts their attention and not always immediately responds to your warnings in their excited state. I tend to keep mine either on a leash or in a fenced yard when first out to allow them to settle down in their enthusiasm a little to be able to stay focused on what I am doing or if I need to redirect their activity. I am always alert for cars and activity on the street nearby to prevent any accidental interactions.
Their love for other animals does not prevent them from engaging in a fun game of chase with any available cats, but they do not hurt them when they catch them if they actually ever do. Most cats learn easily that all they have to do is stop and lie down and they will then be loved to smithereens by the puppy! They love to play and tussle with other pups, children or just about anything available. They are doting on all other creatures in their homes and environment. even the crotchiest old dog or cat..
